Why did you become a Direct Support Professional (DSP)?
To make a great impact on people's lives and yet enjoy the flexibility of the job to spend time with my family.
How would you describe your job? What do you do in a "typical" day?
My typical day starts with office work. I have to ensure things are taken care of there and then I'm off to take the people I support to the store, doctor and the community. I also work at American Liberty Financial Network.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love to see the people I support hit a personal goal. I enjoy seeing their face light up when they hear, "Job well done." It warms my heart.
If someone is considering becoming a DSP, what would you tell him/her?
I'd tell them to go for it; it's a very rewarding job.
